     Margaret Elphinston Smith was born on 3 September 1910.¹ She is the daughter of Very Rev. Sir George Adam Smith and Lilian Buchanan.¹ She married Major Ian Anderson Clarke on 7 August 1934.¹
     She had a son and a daughter.¹ From 7 August 1934, her married name became Clarke.¹ She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ She was advisor to women students at Aberdeen University, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.¹

     Major Ian Anderson Clarke married Margaret Elphinston Smith, daughter of Very Rev. Sir George Adam Smith and Lilian Buchanan, on 7 August 1934.¹ He died on 30 September 1939.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Gordon Highlanders.¹ He was a master at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England.¹ He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)¹

     Joan Veel was born in 1334.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Piers le Veel and Katharine Clivedon.¹ She married Henry Moigne.¹
     Her married name became Moigne.¹

     Henry Moigne was born in 1334.¹ He married Joan Veel, daughter of Sir Piers le Veel and Katharine Clivedon.¹ He died in 1374.¹

     Joan Belvale was born in 1351.¹ She married Sir John Moigne, son of Henry Moigne and Joan Veel.¹ She died in 1381.¹
     Her married name became Moigne.¹

     Henry Moigne was born in 1360.¹ He was the son of Henry Moigne and Joan Veel.¹ He died in 1446.¹

     Frances (?) married Leslie Aubrey Burton.¹
     Her married name became Burton.¹

     Robert Butler, 3rd Earl of Lanesborough was born on 1 August 1759.¹ He was the son of Brinsley Butler, 2nd Earl of Lanesborough and Lady Jane Rochfort.¹ He married Elizabeth La Touche, daughter of Rt. Hon. David La Touche.¹ He died on 17 April 1806 at age 46.¹
     He succeeded as the 5th Baron Newtown Butler [I., 1715] on 24 January 1779.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Lanesborough [I., 1756] on 24 January 1779.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Lanesborough [I., 1728] on 24 January 1779.¹

     Elizabeth La Touche was the daughter of Rt. Hon. David La Touche.¹ She married Robert Butler, 3rd Earl of Lanesborough, son of Brinsley Butler, 2nd Earl of Lanesborough and Lady Jane Rochfort.¹ She died on 22 September 1788.¹
     Her married name became Butler.¹ After her marriage, Elizabeth La Touche was styled as Countess of Lanesborough on 24 January 1779.

     Brinsley Butler, 4th Earl of Lanesborough was born on 22 October 1783.¹ He was the son of Robert Butler, 3rd Earl of Lanesborough and Elizabeth La Touche.¹ He died on 13 June 1847 at age 63, unmarried.¹
     He succeeded as the 6th Baron Newtown Butler [I., 1715] on 17 April 1806.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Earl of Lanesborough [I., 1756] on 17 April 1806.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Lanesborough [I., 1728] on 17 April 1806.¹
