Julian Ward Snow, Baron Burntwood was born on 24 February 1910.3 He is the son of Henry Martin Snow.4 He married Flavia Ria Joan Blois, daughter of Sir Ralph Barrrett MacNaghten Blois, 9th Bt. and Winifred Grace Kennard, on 20 August 1948.4 He died on 24 January 1982 at age 71.1
He was with Dunlop Rubber Company in India and East Africa between 1930 and 1937.3 He fought in the Second World War.3 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Artillery.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Labour) for Liichfield and Tamworth between 1950 and 1970.4,3 He was created Baron Burntwood, of Burntwood in the County of Staffordshire [U.K. Life Peer] on 21 September 1970.1

He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wallingford between 1627 and 1653.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Berkshire from 1633 to 1634.1 In 1641 he signed the Protestation.1 In 1647 he took the Covenant.1 In 1648 he was a Protestor against any agreement with the King.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Berkshire from 1654 to 1655, in the Protector’s Parliament.1 He held the office of Governor of Wallingford Castle in 1655.1 He was created 1st Baron Burnell of East Wittenham, Berks [England] on 26 April 1658, by the Protector.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Oxfordshire from 1667 to 1668.1
His was the only hereditary title conferred by the Protector which was not later confirmed by King Charles II. His heirs did not assume the title.2
