He was the son of Sir Basil Scott of Glenaros and Gertrude Gwendoline Villiers-Stuart.¹ He married Hester Mary Ogilvy, daughter of Gilbert Francis Molyneux Ogilvy and Marjory Katharine Clive, on 21 December 1951.¹ He died on 5 March 1996 at age 79.¹
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was Clerk, House of Commons.¹

     Walter Langley lived at Victoria, British Columbia, Canada^G.¹ He lived at 55 Egerton Gardens, London, England^G.¹

     Colum Basil Scott was born on 9 June 1954.¹ He is the son of David Scott of Glenaros and Hester Mary Ogilvy.¹ He married Sarah Louise Credland, daughter of Michael Charles Watson Credland, in 1992.¹

     Christian Mary Gertrude Scott was born on 5 September 1955.¹ She is the daughter of David Scott of Glenaros and Hester Mary Ogilvy.¹ She married Anthony Latham, son of Leslie Latham, in 1984.¹
     She was educated at Sherborne School for Girls, Sherborne, Dorset, England^G.¹ From 1984, her married name became Latham.¹

     Helen Olivia Katharine Scott was born on 6 January 1958.¹ She is the daughter of David Scott of Glenaros and Hester Mary Ogilvy.¹ She married Alistair Danter, son of John Danter.¹
     Her married name became Danter.¹

     Violet Olivia Juliana Ogilvy was born on 22 March 1864.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel Sir Reginald Howard Alexander Ogilvy, 10th Bt. and Hon. Olive Barbara Kinnaird.² She died on 14 October 1941 at age 77, unmarried.¹

     Hon. James Herbert Tennant was born on 5 March 1929.¹ He was the son of Christopher Grey Tennant, 2nd Baron Glenconner and Pamela Winefred Paget.¹ He married, firstly, Emily Fawaz Licos, daughter of George Licos, on 29 October 1955.¹ He and Emily Fawaz Licos were divorced in 1962.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Myra Dales, daughter of James Dales, on 16 June 1962.¹ He died in 1992.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Horse Guards.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)¹

     Godfrey Rathbone Benson, 1st Baron Charnwood was born on 6 November 1864 at Langtons, Alresford, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He was baptised at Alresford Parish Church, Alresford, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of William Benson and Elizabeth Soulsby Smith.¹ He married Dorothea Mary Roby Thorpe, daughter of Roby Thorpe and Nelly Mundella, on 11 May 1897 at St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster, London, England^G.¹ He died on 3 February 1945 at age 80.³
     He was educated between 1877 and 1883 at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He was educated between 1883 and 1887 at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Oxfordshire, Woodstock Division between 1892 and 1895.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Staffordshire.⁴ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Staffordshire.⁴ He held the office of Mayor of Lichfield between 1909 and 1911.¹ He was created 1st Baron Charnwood, of Castle Donington, co. Leicester [U.K.] on 29 June 1911.¹ He gained the rank of Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1/11 County of London Volunteers.¹ He wrote the book Abraham Lincoln, published 1916.¹ He wrote the book Theodore Roosevelt, published 1923.¹ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁵
     

     Elizabeth Welman was the daughter of Thomas Welman.² She married Charles Noel, 1st Earl of Gainsborough, son of Sir Gerard Noel Noel, 2nd Bt. and Diana Middleton, Baroness Barham, on 1 July 1809.¹ She died on 1 December 1811, without issue.¹
     Her married name became Noel.
