     Alexander Maclean, 13th of Ardgour was born in 1764.1 He was the son of Hugh Maclean, 12th of Ardgour and Elizabeth Houstoun.2 He married Lady Margaret Hope, daughter of John Hope, 2nd Earl of Hopetoun and Lady Elizabeth Leslie, on 10 July 1793.1 He died in 1855.1
     He gained the rank of Ensign in 1780.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel.1

     From 10 July 1793, her married name became Maclean.

     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Artillery.1
