     Sir John Mure, 5th of Caldwell was the son of John Mure, 3rd of Caldwell and Elizabeth (?)¹ He married Janet Stuart, daughter of Matthew Stuart, 2nd Earl of Lennox and Hon. Elizabeth Hamilton.¹ He died before 1538.¹

     Elizabeth (?) married John Mure, 3rd of Caldwell, son of John Mure, 2nd of Caldwell.¹
     Her married name became Mure.¹

     Janet Stuart was the daughter of Matthew Stuart, 2nd Earl of Lennox and Hon. Elizabeth Hamilton.¹ She married Sir John Mure, 5th of Caldwell, son of John Mure, 3rd of Caldwell and Elizabeth (?).¹ She married Thomas Kirkpatrick of Closeburn.² She died before 12 May 1552.³
     Her married name became Kirkpatrick.² Her married name became Mure.¹

     Elizabeth Mure is the daughter of Sir John Mure, 5th of Caldwell and Janet Stuart.¹ She married William Ralston of Ralston.¹
     Her married name became Ralston.¹

     William Ralston of Ralston married Elizabeth Mure, daughter of Sir John Mure, 5th of Caldwell and Janet Stuart.¹

     Sir Adam Mure, 4th of Caldwell was the son of John Mure, 3rd of Caldwell and Elizabeth (?)¹ He married Elizabeth Sempill.¹ He died on 9 September 1513 at Flodden Field, Northumberland, England.¹
     He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.¹

     Elizabeth Sempill married Sir Adam Mure, 4th of Caldwell, son of John Mure, 3rd of Caldwell and Elizabeth (?).¹
     Her married name became Mure.¹

     Sir John Mure, 7th of Caldwell was born circa 1532.¹ He was the son of John Mure, 6th of Caldwell and Lady Isabel Montgomerie.¹ He married Janet Kennedy.¹ He died on 10 September 1570, as the result of a feud.¹

     Janet Kennedy was born circa 1536 at Bargany, Ayrshire, Scotland.¹ She married Sir John Mure, 7th of Caldwell, son of John Mure, 6th of Caldwell and Lady Isabel Montgomerie.¹
     Her married name became Mure.¹
