Admiral Sir James Whitley-Deans-Dundas1 
He was given the name of James Deans at birth. In 1808 his name was legally changed to James Whitley-Deans-Dundas.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Greenwich between 1832 and 1834.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Devizes between 1836 and 1838.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Greenwich between 1841 and 1852.3 He was naval commander of the Mediterranean forces in 1854.3 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1855.1 He gained the rank of Admiral of the White in 1861 in the Royal Navy.1
