     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Queen’s Own Hussars.1 He was admitted to Royal Company of Archers.1 He lived in 2003 at Ravenswood, Melrose, Roxburghshire, Scotland.1

     Sir William McEwan Younger, 1st Bt. was born on 6 September 1905.2 He was the son of William Younger of Ravenswood and Katharine Theodora Dundas.3 He married Nora Elizabeth Balfour, daughter of Brigadier Edward William Sturgis Balfour, 9th of Balbirnie and Lady Ruth Balfour, in 1936.4 He died on 15 April 1992 at age 86.2
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.2 He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was chairman and managing director of Scottish & Newcastle.2 He gained the title of 1st Baronet Younger in February 1964.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of teh City of Edinburgh in 1984.2
