He was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.2 On 20 November 1937 he was granted the rank of a marquess’s younger son.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of Major in the 72nd (Hampshire) AA Brigade, Royal Artillery (Territorial Army.)2 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1943.1

Charles Gordon, 11th Marquess of Huntly1 
Charles Gordon, 11th Marquess of Huntly was born on 5 March 1847.1 He was the son of Charles Gordon, 10th Marquess of Huntly and Maria Antoinetta Pegus.1,3 He married, firstly, Amy Brooks, daughter of Sir William Cunliffe Brooks, 1st and last Bt. and Jane Elizabeth Orrell, on 14 July 1869.3 He married, secondly, Charlotte Jane Isabelle Fallon, daughter of John H. Fallon, on 26 June 1922.1 He died on 20 February 1937 at age 89, without issue.1
He succeeded as the 7th Lord Gordon of Strathavon and Glenlivet [S., 1660] on 18 September 1863.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Meldrum of Morven, co.
