     Sir John Urquhart of Cromarty was born in 1633.2 He is the son of John Urquhart and Elizabeth Innes of Innes.2 He married Lady Barbara Mackenzie, daughter of George Mackenzie, 2nd Earl of Seaforth and Barbara Forbes, in 1655.2 He died in 1678.2
     He held the office of Hereditary Sheriff of Cromarty.2 He held the position of Chief of Clan Urquhart from in 1667.1
