     Major Lionel Gascoigne was born in 1881 at Ashford, Kent, England.¹ He was the son of Reverend Herbert Gascoigne and Louisa Beatrice Langworthy.¹ He married Irenie Dening, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Sir Lewis Dening and Beatrice Catherine Scott, on 28 June 1906 at Christ Church, Pachmarhi, Bengal, India.¹ He died on 2 August 1929 at Kenya.¹
     He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the B/170th Brigade, Royal Artillery.¹

     Robert Hepburn of Clerkington was born before 1743.² He was the son of Robert Hepburn of Baads and Ann Margaret Swinton.² He married Isabella Mitchelson in 1761.³ He died on 2 January 1798 at Middleton, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.^3,2

     Mary Anne Hepburn was baptised on 27 July 1768 at Temple, Midlothian, Scotland.² She was the daughter of Robert Hepburn of Clerkington and Isabella Mitchelson.^3,2 She married John Swinton of that Ilk, son of John Swinton, Lord Swinton and Margaret Mitchelson, on 9 July 1796 at Borthwick, Midlothian, Scotland.^1,2
     From 9 July 1796, her married name became Swinton.

     John Swinton of that Ilk was born on 28 November 1799.² He was the son of John Swinton of that Ilk and Mary Anne Hepburn.³ He was baptised on 19 December 1799 at Temple, Midlothian, Scotland.² He died in 1829, when the estate was sold to his cousin Samuel Swinton, unmarried.¹

     Robert Hepburn Swinton of that Ilk was born on 21 March 1801.² He was the son of John Swinton of that Ilk and Mary Anne Hepburn.³ He was baptised on 7 April 1801 at Dalkeith, Midlothian, Scotland.² He married Julia Harker, daughter of Thomas Harker, on 4 October 1829 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.^1,2 He died on 2 June 1855 at age 54.¹

     Patrick Gascoigne was born on 1 August 1914 at Sherborne, Dorset, England.¹ He was the son of Major Lionel Gascoigne and Irenie Dening.¹ He married Joan Campbell Cooper in 1939.¹ He died on 14 January 1996 at age 81 at Nanyuki, Kenya.¹

     Joan Campbell Cooper was born in 1908 at Christchurch, New Zealand.¹ She married Patrick Gascoigne, son of Major Lionel Gascoigne and Irenie Dening, in 1939.¹ She died on 2 January 1983 at Nanyuki, Kenya.¹
     Her married name became David.¹ From 1939, her married name became Gascoigne.¹

     Nancy Gascoigne was born in 1912.¹ She is the daughter of Major Lionel Gascoigne and Irenie Dening.¹ She married John Coryndon in 1934 at Kenya.¹
     From 1934, her married name became Coryndon.¹

     Thomas Harker lived at Spring Hall, Yorkshire, England.¹
