     Sir Alexander Nisbet of that Ilk was the son of Sir Philip Nisbet of that Ilk and Elizabeth Haldane.² He married Katharine Swinton, daughter of Robert Swinton, 20th of that Ilk and Catherine Hay, circa 1609.² He died after 1665.²
     He saw three sons die in the Civil War.² As a staunch supporter of King Charles I, he lost his estates, forcibly purchased by John Ker.² He built Nisbet House.² He held the office of Representative at Scots Parliament in 1630, for Berkwickshire.² He held the office of Sheriff of Berwickshire in 1633.² In 1641 he was deprived of office by Covenanters (party hostile to King Charles I’s episcopalian church government.)²

     Mabel Winifred Beadon Bryant was born on 9 April 1888.^1,2 She was the daughter of Frederick Beadon Bryant and Mary Lund.¹ She was baptised on 19 June 1888 at Naine Tal, Bengal, India.² She married Harold Dening, son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Lewis Dening and Beatrice Catherine Scott, on 30 December 1908.¹ She died in 1979.¹
     From 30 December 1908, her married name became Dening.¹

     Sir Patrick Hepburn of Whitecastle was the son of John Hepburn of Beinstoun.² He married Margaret Cockburn, daughter of James Cockburn.³ He died in November 1583.³
     He was one of the ‘Ruthven Raiders.³‘ He lived at Nunraw, East Lothian, Scotland.⁴ On 26 August 1582 at Perth, Perthshire, Scotland, he signed the ‘secret band’ after King James VI was retained at Ruthven Castle.³

     Jean Hepburn was born in 1577. She was the daughter of Sir Patrick Hepburn of Whitecastle and Margaret Cockburn.² She married Robert Swinton, 20th of that Ilk, son of John Swinton, 19th of that Ilk and Katherine Lauder, in 1597.¹ She died in 1599.
     From 1597, her married name became Swinton.

     Ruby Irene Dening was born on 15 January 1910.¹ She is the daughter of Harold Dening and Mabel Winifred Beadon Bryant.¹ She married John Walter on 24 April 1940 at Kenya.¹
     From 24 April 1940, her married name became Walter.¹

     John Walter was born in 1915.¹ He married Ruby Irene Dening, daughter of Harold Dening and Mabel Winifred Beadon Bryant, on 24 April 1940 at Kenya.¹ He died in 1941.¹

     Sir Alexander Swinton, 22nd of that Ilk is the son of Robert Swinton, 20th of that Ilk and Jean Hepburn.² He married Margaret Home, daughter of James Home of Frampath and St. Bothans.³ He died in 1652.⁴
     He held the office of Sheriff of Berwickshire.¹ He lived at Swinton, Berwickshire, Scotland^G.⁵ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Berwickshire in 1644/45.¹

     Robert Swinton is the son of Robert Swinton, 20th of that Ilk and Jean Hepburn.²

     unknown son Bernard was born at Singapore.¹ He is the son of Francis James Bernard and Esther Farquhar.¹

     Elizabeth Antoinette Moor was born on 8 October 1832 at Singapore.¹ She was the daughter of John Henry Moor and Christina Elisabeth Stecher.¹ She married Alfred George Farquhar Bernard, son of Francis James Bernard and Esther Farquhar, on 13 April 1849 at Singapore.¹ She died on 17 April 1889 at age 56 at Singapore.¹
     From 13 April 1849, her married name became Bernard.¹
