     Lt.-Col. Alexander Strange was born on 27 April 1818 at Westminster, London, England.^1,2 He was the son of Sir Thomas Andrew Lumisden Strange and Louisa Burroughs.³ He married Adelaide Bruce Davies on 17 October 1848 at Landour, Uttarakhand, India.^1,2 He died on 9 March 1876 at age 57 at 97 Onslow square, Kensington, London, England.²
     He gained the rank of Colonel.¹

     From 5 February 1833, her married name became Mure.
