     Dr. Hon. Alan Molyneux Herbert was born in 1836.¹ He was the son of Henry John George Herbert, 3rd Earl of Carnarvon and Henrietta Anna Howard.¹ He died in 1907, unmarried.¹
     He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ In 1870 he served as a physician in Paris during the Franco-Prussian War.¹
