     Vice-Admiral Sir William George Fairfax was born in 1738.1 He was the son of Joseph Fairfax.1 He married, firstly, Hannah Spears, daughter of Reverend Robert Spears, in 1767.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Charters, daughter of Samuel Charters, in April 1772.2,3 He died on 7 November 1813.1
     He served in the Royal Navy for 63 years.1 He fought in the Battle of Quebec in 1759.1 He was Commander of HMS Alert when it took Le Coureur in 1778.1 He fought in the Battle of Camperdown on 11 October 1797.1 He gained the rank of Flag Captain to Lord Duncan aboard HMS Venerable.1 He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Marines.1 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral of the Red.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.)1 He was allegedly kin to the Lords Fairfax.1

     Archibald Montgomerie Williamson was the daughter of Thomas Williamson Ramsay and Robert Ramsay.1 She married Sir Henry Fairfax, 1st Bt., son of Vice-Admiral Sir William George Fairfax and Margaret Charters, in January 1830.1 She died on 13 July 1844.1
     From January 1830, her married name became Fairfax.1
