     General Arthur Alexander Dalzell, 9th Earl of Carnwath was born on 15 September 1799.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Robert Alexander Dalzell, 6th Earl of Carnwath and Andulusia Browne.1 He died on 28 April 1875 at age 75 at 28 Eaton Place, London, EnglandG, unmarried.1 He was buried on 4 May 1875 at Brompton Cemetery, Brompton, London, EnglandG.1
     He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 48th Foot between 1841 and 1853.1 He held the office of Assistant-Secretary for Scotland between 1854 and 1859.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in 1858.1 He was Colonel of the 88th Foot between 1863 and 1864.1 He was Colonel of the 48th Foot between 1864 and 1875.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1865.1 He gained the rank of General in 1873.1 He succeeded as the 9th Earl of Carnwath [S., 1639] on 13 March 1873.1

     Lt.-Gen. Robert Alexander Dalzell, 6th Earl of Carnwath was born on 13 February 1768.1 He was the son of Robert Dalzell and Elizabeth Acklom.1 He married, firstly, Jane Parkes, daughter of Samuel Parkes, on 23 September 1789.1 He married, secondly, Andulusia Browne, daughter of Lt.-Col. Arthur Browne, on 26 April 1794.1 He married, thirdly, Jane Carnell, daughter of John Carnell, on 11 October 1838.1 He died on 1 January 1839 at age 70.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered in March 1839.1
     He gained the rank of Major-General in 1814.1 He succeeded as the 6th Earl of Carnwath [S., 1639] on 26 May 1826, after having this title restored by Act of Parliament.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1830.1

     Colonel Harry Burrard Dalzell, 10th Earl of Carnwath was born on 11 November 1804.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Robert Alexander Dalzell, 6th Earl of Carnwath and Andulusia Browne.1 He married Isabella Campbell, daughter of Reverend Alexander Campbell, on 16 November 1827.1 He died on 1 November 1887 at age 82 at 28 Eaton Place, London, EnglandG, without surviving male issue.1 He was buried at St. Peter’s Church, Bournemouth, Hampshire, EnglandG.1
     He was commissioned in 1820, in the service of the Bengal Artillery.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1835 in the Bengal Artillery.1 He was Commisary of Ordnance between 1835 and 1842 at Agra, IndiaG.1 He succeeded as the 10th Earl of Carnwath [S., 1639] on 28 April 1875.1
