     Susanna Stevenson was born on 5 June 1786.¹ She was the daughter of Nathaniel Stevenson and Janet Maxwell.² She died circa 1787, an infant.¹

     Thomas Rennie Scott was factor to Lord Douglas at Castlemains.¹ He lived at Airfield, Lanarkshire, Scotland, in Airfield Lanarkshire.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹

     Margaret Jane Scott was the daughter of Thomas Rennie Scott.² She married Nathaniel Stevenson, son of Nathaniel Stevenson and Janet Maxwell, on 3 December 1837.¹ She died on 11 March 1897.¹
     From 3 December 1837, her married name became Stevenson.

     Colonel James Stevenson of Braidwood was born on 6 November 1838.² He was the son of Nathaniel Stevenson and Margaret Jane Scott.² He married, firstly, Eliza Hamilton, daughter of James Hamilton and Margaret Dick, on 11 December 1866.² He married, secondly, Frances Leyland, daughter of Frederick Richards Leyland and Frances Dawson, on 2 July 1879 at Kensington, London, England.^2,3 He married, thirdly, Florence Louisa Gibbs, daughter of Samuel Mountford Gibbs, on 21 July 1885.² He died on 6 November 1926 at age 88.²
     His married name became James Stevenson.² He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.² He was winner of the Grand Military Steeplechase in 1865.² He gained the rank of Captain in the 12th Lancers.² In 1867 his name was legally changed to James Stevenson-Hamilton of Braidwood.² He was he served in Kerry during Fenian disturbances in 1867.² He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court in 1867.² He gained the rank of Major in 1872 in the 3rd Battalion, Lanarkshire Rifle Volunteers.² He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 9th Lanarkshire Rifle Volunteers in 1875.² He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers’ Decoration (V.D.)² In 1893 his name was legally changed to James Stevenson of Braidwood by Royal Warrant.² He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria in 1896.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)² He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King Edward VII between 1901 and 1910.² He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in 1905 in the Highland Light Infantry Volunteers.² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1905.² He was Honorary Colonel of the 8th Battalion, Highland Light Infantry in 1908.² He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George V between 1910 and 1920.²

     General Nathaniel Stevenson was born on 15 April 1840.¹ He was the son of Nathaniel Stevenson and Margaret Jane Scott.² He married Isabella Charlotte Lewin, daughter of George H. Lewin, on 25 September 1872.¹ He died on 2 August 1911 at age 71.¹
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.¹ He was commander of the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1871.¹ He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor and Commander of Guernsey and Alderney between 1894 and 1899.¹ He gained the rank of General in 1898.¹ He was Colonel of the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1902.¹

     Isabella Charlotte Lewin was the daughter of George H. Lewin.² She married General Nathaniel Stevenson, son of Nathaniel Stevenson and Margaret Jane Scott, on 25 September 1872.¹ She died in 1919.¹
     From 25 September 1872, her married name became Stevenson.

     Nathalie Marguerite Stevenson was born on 8 August 1873.¹ She was the daughter of General Nathaniel Stevenson and Isabella Charlotte Lewin.² She married Major Herbert Spencer Compton Gordon on 20 January 1896.¹ She died on 9 August 1936 at age 63.¹
     From 20 January 1896, her married name became Gordon.

     Major Herbert Spencer Compton Gordon married Nathalie Marguerite Stevenson, daughter of General Nathaniel Stevenson and Isabella Charlotte Lewin, on 20 January 1896.¹ He died on 22 November 1918.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the 93rd Highlanders.¹

     Charles Skirrow Gilbert Gordon was born in 1897.¹ He was the son of Major Herbert Spencer Compton Gordon and Nathalie Marguerite Stevenson.² He died in 1958, unmarried.¹
