Colonel James Stevenson of Braidwood1 
His married name became James Stevenson.2 He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.2 He was winner of the Grand Military Steeplechase in 1865.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the 12th Lancers.2 In 1867 his name was legally changed to James Stevenson-Hamilton of Braidwood.2 He was he served in Kerry during Fenian disturbances in 1867.2 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court in 1867.2 He gained the rank of Major in 1872 in the 3rd Battalion, Lanarkshire Rifle Volunteers.2 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 9th Lanarkshire Rifle Volunteers in 1875.2 He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers’ Decoration (V.D.)2 In 1893 his name was legally changed to James Stevenson of Braidwood by Royal Warrant.2 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria in 1896.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)2 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King Edward VII between 1901 and 1910.2 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in 1905 in the Highland Light Infantry Volunteers.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1905.2 He was Honorary Colonel of the 8th Battalion, Highland Light Infantry in 1908.2 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM King George V between 1910 and 1920.2

General Nathaniel Stevenson1 
He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.1 He was commander of the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1871.1 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor and Commander of Guernsey and Alderney between 1894 and 1899.1 He gained the rank of General in 1898.1 He was Colonel of the Royal Irish Fusiliers in 1902.1
