     Jane Muirhead Hamilton was born on 4 February 1811.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Hamilton, 13th of Fairholm and Kirkton and Anne Scrivener.²

     Caroline Susan Hamilton was born in 1812.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Hamilton, 13th of Fairholm and Kirkton and Anne Scrivener.² She died circa 1813, an infant.¹

     Reverend Dr. unknown Hamilton lived at Lesmahagow, Scotland.¹

     Grace Dundas Hamilton was the daughter of Reverend Dr. unknown Hamilton.² She married John Hamilton, 14th of Fairholm and Kirkton, son of Charles Hamilton, 13th of Fairholm and Kirkton and Anne Scrivener, on 24 February 1835.¹ She died on 24 June 1888.¹

     Lt.-Col. James Stevenson-Hamilton, 16th of Fairholm and Kirkton was born on 2 October 1867.¹ He was the son of Colonel James Stevenson of Braidwood and Eliza Hamilton.² He married Hilda Cholmondeley, daughter of Richard Vernon Cholmondeley and Hilda Georgina Leyland, on 13 August 1930.¹ He died on 10 December 1957 at age 90.¹
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the Zululand Campaign in 1888.¹ He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers in 1896.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1902, and he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was Warden of Sabi Game Reserve, South Africa between 1902 and 1926.¹ He gained the rank of Major in 1905 in the 6th Inniskilling Dragoons.¹ He wrote the book Animal Life in Africa, published 1912.¹ He fought in the First World War, in Gallipoli and Egypt.¹ He gained the rank of Brigade-Major in 1914 in the Nottinghamshire and Derby Brigade of Yeomanry.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1916 in the Egypt Force.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)¹ He was awarded the Silver Medal of the Royal Zoological Society.¹ He was Warden of Kruger National Park between 1927 and 1946.¹ He wrote the book The Lowveld, its Wild Life and its People, published 1929.¹ He wrote the book South African Eden, published 1937.¹ He wrote the book Wild Life in South Africa, published 1947.¹

     Richard Vernon Cholmondeley is the son of Reverend Richard Hugh Cholmondeley and Emily Beaumont.² He married Hilda Georgina Leyland, daughter of Christopher John Leyland and Everilda Elizabeth Creyke.²

     Hilda Cholmondeley was the daughter of Richard Vernon Cholmondeley and Hilda Georgina Leyland.^2,3 She married Lt.-Col. James Stevenson-Hamilton, 16th of Fairholm and Kirkton, son of Colonel James Stevenson of Braidwood and Eliza Hamilton, on 13 August 1930.¹ She died on 11 January 1979.¹
     From 13 August 1930, her married name became Stevenson-Hamilton.

     Hilda Margaret Stevenson-Hamilton was born on 8 November 1931.¹ She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. James Stevenson-Hamilton, 16th of Fairholm and Kirkton and Hilda Cholmondeley.² She died on 25 October 1935 at age 3.¹
