Ranulph le Meschin, 1st Earl of Chester1 
He was also known as Ranulph de Briquessart.4 He gained the title of Vicomte de Bayeux [Normandy].4 He succeeded as the Vicomte d’Avranches [Normandy] on 25 November 1120.4 He was created 1st Earl of Chester [England] in 1121.4 He was Commander of the Royal forces in Normandy in 1124.4

He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wallingford between 1641 and 1644.1 He was Colonel of the Regiment of Horse in September 1643.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Andover, co. Southampton [E., 1622] in April 1679.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Berkshire [E., 1626] in April 1679.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Howard of Charleton, Wiltshire [E., 1622] in April 1679.1 His last will was dated 24 September 1705.

Sir Robert Howard was born in 1622.2 He was the son of Thomas Howard, 1st Earl of Berkshire and Lady Elizabeth Cecil.1 He married, fourthly, Annabella Dives.2 He married Lady Honora O’Brien, daughter of Henry O’Brien, 4th Earl of Thomond and Mary Brereton.3 He died in 1698.2
