     Sir John Reynolds was born in 1625. He married Sarah Russell, daughter of Sir Francis Russell, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Wheatley, before 1657.1 He died on 5 December 1657, drowned in a shipwreck on Goodwin Sands.1
     He fought in the Battle of Rathmines on 2 August 1647. He gained the rank of Captain in the Oliver Cromwell’s regiment in the New Model Army. He was Commissary-General of Horse in 1651.
