     Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, 3rd Bt. was born on 11 February 1633.1 He was the son of Sir John Hope of Craighall, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Murray.2 He married Elizabeth Aytoun, daughter of Sir John Aytoun of that Ilk.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Hope, of Craighall [N.S., 1628] on 28 April 1654.1

     Her married name became Hope. From 26 March 1663, her married name became Gibson.1

     He was given the name of John Hope at birth.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Kinross-shire.1 He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Hope, of Craighall [N.S., 1628].1
