     William Dalrymple was born on 19 October 1693.¹ He was the son of Hon. Sir Hew Dalrymple of North Berwick, 1st Bt. and Marion Hamilton.¹ He died in 1746 at Cavendish Square, London, England^G, murdered by a footboy.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Army.¹

     James Dalrymple was the son of John Dalrymple and Mary Ross.¹ He died in September 1737.¹
     He lived at Nunraw, Scotland^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Army.¹

     Margaret Dalrymple is the daughter of John Dalrymple and Mary Ross.¹

     Elizabeth Hamilton was the daughter of John Hamilton of Olivestob.¹ She married, firstly, James Hamilton before 1711.¹ She married, secondly, Hon. Sir Hew Dalrymple of North Berwick, 1st Bt., son of James Dalrymple, 1st Viscount of Stair and Margaret Ross, before 1712.¹ She died on 21 March 1742.¹
     From before 1712, her married name became Dalrymple.¹

     James Hamilton married Elizabeth Hamilton, daughter of John Hamilton of Olivestob, before 1711.¹ He died before 1712.¹
     He lived at Bangour, Linlithgowshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Margaret Sainthill was the daughter of Peter Sainthill.² She married Sir Hew Dalrymple of North Berwick, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Robert Dalrymple and Johanna Hamilton, on 12 July 1743.¹ She died on 31 December 1749.¹
     From 12 July 1743, her married name became Dalrymple.¹

     Peter Sainthill lived at Garlick Hill, London, England^G.¹ He was surgeon.¹

     Martha Edwin was the daughter of Charles Edwin.¹ She married Sir Hew Dalrymple of North Berwick, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Robert Dalrymple and Johanna Hamilton, on 17 August 1756.¹ She died on 12 September 1782.¹
     From 17 August 1756, her married name became Dalrymple.¹

     Charles Edwin was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn entitled to practise as a barrister.¹
