Lt.-Gen. Robert Browne-Clayton1

     Lt.-Gen. Robert Browne-Clayton was the son of Robert Browne and Eleanor Morres.2 He married Henrietta Clayton, daughter of Sir Richard Clayton, 1st Bt. and Anne White, on 1 December 1803.1 He died on 10 March 1845.1
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in the British Army.1 He was given the name of Robert Browne at birth.1 On 6 April 1829 his name was legally changed to Robert Browne-Clayton by Royal Licence.1

     Henrietta Clayton was the daughter of Sir Richard Clayton, 1st Bt. and Anne White.1 She married Lt.-Gen. Robert Browne-Clayton, son of Robert Browne and Eleanor Morres, on 1 December 1803.1 She died on 8 September 1858.1
     From 1 December 1803, her married name became Browne.
