Sir Richard Maitland, Lord Lethington1 
He was educated at St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, ScotlandG.1 He was educated at Paris, FranceG.1 In 1537 he had a royal charter of the lands of Blyth.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1561.1 He gained the title of Lord Lethington [Scottish Law Lord] in 1561.1 He held the office of Lord of Session between 1561 and 1584.1 He wrote the book a hiistory of the Setons.1

William Maitland of Thirlestane and Levington1

In 1477 he had sasine of Thirlestone.1 He fought in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513.1

Sir Robert Maitland of Thirlestane and Levington1 
He was New Tag Lethington from Sir John Gifford of Yester.1 In 1345 Levington was confirmed to him by Royal Grant.1 He fought in the Battle of Neville’s Cross on 17 October 1346.1
