     Sir Edward Giles was the son of John Giles and Agnes Stucley.² He married, firstly, Mary Northcote, daughter of Walter Northcote and Mary Drew, on 28 January 1587 at Newton St. Cyres, Devon, England^G.^1,2 He married, secondly, Mary Drew in 1635.² He died circa December 1637.² He was buried on 28 December 1637 at Dean Prior Church, Buckfastleigh, Devon, England^G.²
     He lived at Bowden House, Totnes, Devon, England^G.^1,2

     John Northcote was the son of John Northcote and Elizabeth Dowrish.² He married, firstly, Elizabeth Rouse, daughter of Sir Anthony Rouse and Elizabeth Southcote.¹ He married, secondly, Susan Pollard, daughter of Sir Hugh Pollard.¹ He died in December 1632.¹
     He lived at Upton, Devon, England^G.¹ He had eleven other sons and six daughters.¹

     Sir Anthony Rouse was the son of Sir Richard Rouse and Elinor Marvyn.² He married, firstly, Elizabeth Southcote, daughter of Thomas Southcote and Grace Barnhouse. He married, secondly, Philippa Colles, daughter of Humphrey Colles.² He married, thirdly, Susan Pollard, daughter of Sir Lewis Pollard, on 13 September 1620.² He died circa 17 November 1620.³ He was buried on 20 November 1620 at St. Dominick, Cornwall, England.
     He lived at Halton, Cornwall, England^G.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for East Looe in 1584.² He held the office of Sheriff of Cornwall from 1587 to 1588.² He was appointed Knight in 1601.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cornwall in 1604.²

     Elizabeth Rouse is the daughter of Sir Anthony Rouse and Elizabeth Southcote.^2,1 She married John Northcote, son of John Northcote and Elizabeth Dowrish.¹
     Her married name became Northcote.

     Sir John Northcote, 1st Bt. was the son of John Northcote and Elizabeth Rouse.² He married Grace Halswell, daughter of Hugh Halswell.¹ He died circa June 1676.¹ He was buried on 24 June 1676.¹
     He held the office of Sheriff of Devon in 1627.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ashburton between 1640 and 1660.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Northcote, of Hayne, co. Devon [England] on 16 July 1641.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon in 1654.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon in 1656.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devon in 1660.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Barnstaple between 1667 and 1676.¹ He lived at Hayne, Newton St. Cyres, Devon, England^G.¹

     Grace Halswell is the daughter of Hugh Halswell.¹ She married Sir John Northcote, 1st Bt., son of John Northcote and Elizabeth Rouse.¹
     Her married name became Northcote.

     Sir Arthur Northcote, 2nd Bt. was baptised on 25 March 1628.¹ He was the son of Sir John Northcote, 1st Bt. and Grace Halswell.² He married, firstly, Elizabeth Welsh, daughter of James Welsh.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Godolphin, daughter of Sir Francis Godolphin and Dorothy Berkeley, in 1650.¹ He died in 1688.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Northcote, of Hayne, co. Devon [E., 1641] circa June 1676.¹

     Elizabeth Welsh is the daughter of James Welsh.¹ She married Sir Arthur Northcote, 2nd Bt., son of Sir John Northcote, 1st Bt. and Grace Halswell.¹
     Her married name became Northcote.

     Sir Francis Northcote, 3rd Bt. was born before 1655.¹ He was the son of Sir Arthur Northcote, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Godolphin.² He married Anne Wrey, daughter of Sir Chichester Wrey, 3rd Bt. and Lady Anne Bourchier, on 26 July 1688.¹ He died in 1709, without issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Northcote, of Hayne, co. Devon [E., 1641] in 1688.¹

     Sir Chichester Wrey, 3rd Bt. was born in 1628.² He was the son of Sir William Wrey, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Chichester.² He married Lady Anne Bourchier, daughter of Edward Bourchier, 4th Earl of Bath and Hon. Dorothy St. John, in 1653.² He died circa 14 February 1668.³ He was buried on 17 May 1668 at St. Gile’s-in-the-Fields Church, London, England^G.³
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Wrey, of Trebitch, Cornwall [E., 1628] in August 1645.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lostwithiel between 1661 and 1668.² He held the office of Governor of Sheerness.² He gained the rank of Colonel in the Duke of York’s Regiment.²
