     John Colles was born circa 1541.¹ He was the son of Humphrey Colles and Elizabeth Darcy.¹ He married Anne Thynne, daughter of Sir John Thynne.¹ He married Winifred Leigh, daughter of Sir Thomas Leigh and Alice Barker, in February 1596.¹ He died on 18 February 1608.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Minehead in 1571.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Somerset from 1578 to 1579.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Somerset in 1597.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Somerset from 1597 to 1598.¹

     Anne Thynne is the daughter of Sir John Thynne.¹ She married John Colles, son of Humphrey Colles and Elizabeth Darcy.¹
     Her married name became Colles.¹

     Robert Rous is the son of Sir Anthony Rouse and Elizabeth Southcote.

     Thomas Rous was the son of Francis Rous and Elizabeth Rouse. He died in 1737.

     George Rous is the son of Thomas Rous.
