     John Upton was born on 7 April 1590.2 He was the son of Arthur Upton and Gertrude Fortescue.2 He married Dorothy Rouse, daughter of Sir Anthony Rouse.2 He died on 11 September 1641 at age 51.2 He was buried on 12 September 1641 at Brixton Church, Brixham, Devon, England.2
     He matriculated at Lincoln College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 29 November 1605.2
