     William Assheton Cross was born on 19 May 1818.¹ He was the son of William Cross and Ellen Chaffers.² He married Katherine Matilda Winn, daughter of Charles Winn and Priscilla Strickland, on 19 August 1846.¹ He died on 25 January 1883 at age 64.¹

     Charles Winn was born circa 1795. He was the son of John Williamson and Esther Sabina Winn.² He married Priscilla Strickland, daughter of Sir William Strickland, 6th Bt. and Henrietta Cholmley, on 16 June 1819.² He died on 17 December 1874.²
     He was given the name of Charles Williamson at birth.² He lived at Nostell Priory, Yorkshire, England^G.¹

     Katherine Matilda Winn was born on 5 August 1825.² She was the daughter of Charles Winn and Priscilla Strickland.² She married William Assheton Cross, son of William Cross and Ellen Chaffers, on 19 August 1846.¹ She died on 16 April 1871 at age 45.²
     From 19 August 1846, her married name became Cross.

     Reverend John Edward Cross was born in 1821.¹ He was the son of William Cross and Ellen Chaffers.² He married Elizabeth Hornby, daughter of Admiral Sir Phipps Hornby and Maria Sophia Burgoyne, in 1854.¹ He died on 28 February 1897.¹
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was the Vicar at Appleby, Brigg, Lincolnshire, England^G.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He held the office of Prebendary of Lincoln.¹

     Maria Sophia Burgoyne was born circa 1790 at Littlegreen, England.² She was the daughter of General John Burgoyne and Susan Caulfield.² She married Admiral Sir Phipps Hornby, son of Reverend Geoffrey Hornby and Lady Lucy Smith-Stanley, on 22 December 1814 at Woodmansterne, Surrey, England.^1,2 She died on 25 December 1860 at Compton, Chichester, Sussex, England.^1,2
     From 22 December 1814, her married name became Hornby.¹

     Elizabeth Hornby was the daughter of Admiral Sir Phipps Hornby and Maria Sophia Burgoyne.^2,3 She married Reverend John Edward Cross, son of William Cross and Ellen Chaffers, in 1854.¹ She died on 17 October 1923.¹
     From 1854, her married name became Cross.

     Richard Assheton Cross, 1st Viscount Cross was born on 30 May 1823.¹ He was the son of William Cross and Ellen Chaffers.² He married Georgiana Lyon, daughter of Thomas Lyon and Eliza Clayton, on 4 May 1852.¹ He died on 8 January 1914 at age 90.¹
