General Sir Charles Parker Deedes1 

General Sir Charles Parker Deedes was born on 9 August 1879 at Nether Broughton, Leicestershire, England.1,3 He was the son of Reverend Philip Deedes and Josephine Parker.1,3 He married Eve Mary Dean-Pitt, daughter of Captain Stanley Talbot Dean-Pitt and Harriet Mary Augusta Williams, on 4 July 1906 at Brompton Oratory, Kensington, London, England.4,3 He died on 9 March 1969 at age 89 at Budleigh Salterton, Devon, England.1,3
He fought in the Boer War between 1901 and 1902, and was mentioned in despatches.3 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)3 He gained the rank of Adjutant in the Mounted Infantry.3 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918, and was mentioned in despatches six times.3 He was awarded the Order of the Crown of Belgium.3 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.3 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)3 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)3 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal (D.S.M.) U.S.3 He gained the rank of Colonel between 1921 and 1925 in the Southern Command.3 He was Colnel Commandant of the 3rd Infantry Brigade between 1926 and 1927.3 He was Director of Personal Services, War Office between 1930 and 1933.3 He was Military Secretary to the Secretary of State, War between 1934 and 1937.3 He retired from the military in 1937, with the rank of General.3
