     He gained the rank of Major in the Gloucestershire Regiment.1 He lived at Burnham, Somerset, EnglandG.1 He lived at The Retreat, Devon, EnglandG.1

     Lt.-Col. Fulbert Audley Archdale was born on 8 August 1890.1 He was the son of Major Mervyn Edward Archdale and Minna Archer.1 He married Muriel Kathleen Lyon, daughter of Lt.-Col. John Wilmot Harley Lyon and Constance Mary (?), on 10 March 1920.1 He died on 16 July 1953 at age 62.1
     He entered the military in 1906, in the service of the HMS Worcester.1 He was an apprentice aboard the barque Inverlyon, which circumnavigated thrice by sail.1 He joined the Hoogli Pilot Service in 1911 at Calcutta, IndiaG.1 He fought in the First World War with the 130th Baluchis, mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Pioneer Corps.1 He was Commander of the Karachi Corps Auxillary Force between 1924 and 1929.1 He was assigned to Movement Control in 1939.1 He fought in the Second World War, with the Pioneer Corps.1 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)1
