     Robert Fergusson, 9th of Craigdarroch was born circa 1566 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.² He was the son of John Fergusson, 8th of Craigdarroch and Agnes Kirkpatrick.¹ He married, firstly, Gellie Maxwell, daughter of unknown Maxwell of Carnsalloch.² He married, secondly, Lady Jean Cuninghame, daughter of William Cuninghame, 6th Earl of Glencairn and Janet Gordon.¹ He died on 9 November 1611 at Craigdarroch, Glencairn, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dumfries-shire.² On 5 September 1612 he was infeft as heir to his father.¹

     Gellie Maxwell was the daughter of unknown Maxwell of Carnsalloch.¹ She married Robert Fergusson, 9th of Craigdarroch, son of John Fergusson, 8th of Craigdarroch and Agnes Kirkpatrick.² She died on 13 August 1594.¹
