     John Grierson was born circa 1537.² He was the son of Sir John Grierson, 6th of Lag and Egidia Geils Kennedy.¹ He married Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of Sir James Gordon of Lochinvar and Margaret Crichton.¹
     He lived at Dalskaville, Scotland^G.¹ He was living after 1625 at Dalskaville, Scotland.^1,2 He was ancestor of the Griersons of Bargatton.¹

     Elizabeth Gordon is the daughter of Sir James Gordon of Lochinvar and Margaret Crichton.¹ She married, firstly, John Grierson, son of Sir John Grierson, 6th of Lag and Egidia Geils Kennedy.¹ She married, secondly, Ninian Adair, son of William Adair and Helen Kennedy.² She married William Grierson, 7th of Lag, son of Sir John Grierson, 6th of Lag and Nicola Herries, in 1550.¹
     Her married name became Adair.² Her married name became Grierson.¹

     Thomas McCulloch of Cardoness is the son of Alexander McCulloch of Cardoness and Elizabeth McClellane.¹ He married Katherine Gordon, daughter of Sir James Gordon of Lochinvar and Margaret Crichton, on 29 March 1560.¹

     Nicola Maxwell was born in 1578.² She was the daughter of Sir John Maxwell and Agnes Herries, Lady Herries of Terregles.¹ She married Sir William Grierson, 9th of Lag, son of Roger Grierson, 8th of Lag and Helen Douglas, on 9 May 1593.¹ She died in 1605.²
     From 9 May 1593, her married name became Grierson.¹

     Agnes Grierson was born before 1599.² She was the daughter of Sir William Grierson, 9th of Lag and Nicola Maxwell.¹ A contract for the marriage of Agnes Grierson and John Laurie of Maxwelton was signed on 20 November 1630.^1,2 She died on 3 February 1664.² Her will was proven (by probate) on 26 January 1665.²
     From 20 November 1630, her married name became Laurie.¹
