Admiral Sir Robert Laurie of Maxwelton, 6th Bt.1 
He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Navy, in the H.M.S. Queen.1 He fought in the Glorious First of June on 1 June 1794, where he distinguished himself.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Laurie, of Maxwelton, co. Dumfries [N.S., 1685] on 10 September 1804.1 He fought in the action with the Ville de Milan in 1805.1 He gained the rank of Admiral in 1821.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 13 September 1831.1 On his death, his baronetcy became extiinct.1
