     Colonel James Grierson was born on 6 January 1741.³ He was the son of Thomas Grierson of Larbreck and Elizabeth Ewart.^1,3 He married Katherine McBurnie on 14 May 1767 at St. Paul’s Parish, Augusta, Georgia, U.S.A.^G.³ He died on 7 June 1781 at age 40 at Augusta, Georgia, U.S.A.^G, killed by rebels, two days after he had surrendered.^1,3
