     Agnes McBurnie married James Grierson of Dalgoner, son of James Grierson of Larglanglie and Margaret Corsane, on 14 September 1697 at Dumfries, Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.^1,2 She was buried at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Dumfries, Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.²
     From 14 September 1697, her married name became Grierson.¹

     James Grierson of Dalgoner was born circa 1699.² He was the son of James Grierson of Dalgoner and Agnes McBurnie.¹ He married Janet Agnes Brodie.¹ He died on 9 June 1768.²

     Helen Morrison was born on 8 February 1762.² She married James Grierson, son of James Grierson of Dalgoner and Janet Agnes Brodie.¹ She died on 30 August 1793 at age 31 at Dalgoner, Dunscore, Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.²
     Her married name became Grierson.¹

     Michael Wellington Stapleton-Cotton, 5th Viscount Combermere of Bhurtpore was born on 8 August 1929.¹ He was the son of Francis Lynch Wellington Stapleton-Cotton, 4th Viscount Combermere of Bhurtpore and Constance Marie Katherine Williams-Drummond.² He married Pamela Elizabeth Coulson, daughter of Reverend Robert Gustavus Coulson, on 4 February 1961.¹ He died on 3 November 2000 at age 71.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.² He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in 1947 in the Royal Air Force Reserve.¹ He was with the Palestine Police between 1947 and 1948.² He was with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police between 1948 and 1949.² He was a short service commission general duties pilot with the Royal Air Force between 1950 and 1958.² He was a sales representative for Teleflex Products Ltd between 1959 and 1962.² He graduated from King’s College London, London, England^G, in 1965 with a Bachelor of Divinity (B.D.)¹ He graduated from King’s College London, London, England^G, in 1967 with a Master of Theology (M.Th.)² He succeeded as the 5th Baron Combermere, of Combermere, co. Chester [U.K., 1814] on 8 February 1969.² He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Combermere of Bhurtpore [U.K., 1827] on 8 February 1969.¹ He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Cotton, of Combermere, co. Chester [E., 1677] on 8 February 1969.² He was a staff lecturer in biblical and religious studies between 1972 and 1994 at London University, Department of Extra-Mural Studies, London, England^G.²

     Philip Grierson was born on 19 August 1789 at Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.² He was the son of James Grierson and Helen Morrison.¹ He married Margaret Smith, daughter of William Smith, on 16 December 1822 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.² He died on 12 June 1827 at age 37 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.² He was buried at Sighthill Cemetery, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.²
     He was a jeweler.²

     Janet Agnes Brodie was born circa 1719.² She married James Grierson of Dalgoner, son of James Grierson of Dalgoner and Agnes McBurnie.¹ She died on 5 January 1774.²
     Her married name became Grierson.¹
