He was Lieutenant of County Louth and Drogheda.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Oriel of Ferrard, co. Louth [U.K., 1821] on 28 April 1863.2 He succeeded as the 4th Viscount Ferrard, co. Louth [I., 1797] on 28 April 1863.2 He succeeded as the 11th Viscount Massereene, co. Antrim [I., 1660] on 28 April 1863.2 He succeeded as the 11th Baron of Loughneagh, co. Antrim [I., 1660] on 28 April 1863.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Oriel of Collon, co. Louth [I., 1790] on 28 April 1863.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Antrim Militia.2

Leslie Fraser Duncan1 
He was given the name of Joseph Duncan at birth.1 He was proprietor of the Matrimonial News between 1870 and 1890.1 In 1891 he lost an action for breach of promise of marriage brought by a Miss Gladys Knowles (aged 22), who was awarded £10,000 damages.1
