     General Sir Robert Henry Cunliffe, 4th Bt. was born on 22 April 1785.2 He was the son of Sir Foster Cunliffe, 3rd Bt. and Harriet Kinloch.2 He was baptised on 23 May 1785 at St. john, Chester, Cheshire, England.3 He married, firstly, Louisa Smith, daughter of Lewis Smith and unknown wife (?), on 15 December 1805.2 He married, secondly, Susan Emily Paton, daughter of Colonel John Paton, on 2 April 1825.2 He died on 10 September 1859 at age 74.2
     He was appointed Knight in 1829.2 He gained the rank of General in the Bengal Army.2 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Cunliffe, of Liverpool [G.B., 1759] on 15 June 1834.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)2
