Edward Montagu, 3rd Earl of Sandwich

Edward Montagu, 3rd Earl of Sandwich was born on 10 April 1670 at Burlington House, Piccadilly, London, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Edward Montagu, 2nd Earl of Sandwich and Lady Anne Boyle.3,2 He married Lady Elizabeth Wilmot, daughter of John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester and Elizabeth Malet, on 8 July 1689.4 He died on 20 October 1729 at age 59.4
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.4 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Sandwich, co. Kent [E., 1660] on 29 November 1688.5 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Montagu of St. Neots, co. Huntingdon [E., 1660] on 29 November 1688.5 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Hinchingbrooke, co. Huntingdon [E., 1660] on 29 November 1688.5 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Huntingdonshire.4 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.4 He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.)4 He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Doctor of Civil Laws (D.C.L.)4

Capel Hanbury-Leigh1 
He was given the name of Capel Hanbury at birth.2 In 1797 his name was legally changed to Capel Hanbury-Leigh under the terms of the will of his cousin, 5th Baron Leigh of Stoneleigh.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Monmouthshire in 1799.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Breconshire in 1827.2 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Monmouthshire between 1836 and 1861.2 He lived at Pont-y-pool Park, Monmouthshire, WalesG.1
