     Edward Montagu, 2nd Earl of Sandwich was born on 3 January 1647/48 at Hinchingbrooke House, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He was the son of Edward Montagu, 1st Earl of Sandwich and Jemima Crew.^3,4 He married Lady Anne Boyle, daughter of Richard Boyle, 2nd Earl of Cork and Elizabeth Clifford, Baroness Clifford, in January 1667/68.⁵ He died before 29 November 1688.¹

     Lady Anne Boyle was the daughter of Richard Boyle, 2nd Earl of Cork and Elizabeth Clifford, Baroness Clifford.¹ She married Edward Montagu, 2nd Earl of Sandwich, son of Edward Montagu, 1st Earl of Sandwich and Jemima Crew, in January 1667/68.² She died on 14 September 1671.¹
     From January 1667/68, her married name became Montagu.¹

     Edward Montagu, 1st Earl of Sandwich was born on 27 July 1625 at Barnwall, Northamptonshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir Sydney Montagu and Paulina Pepys.⁴ He married Jemima Crew, daughter of John Crew, 1st Baron Crew of Stene and Jemima Waldegrave, on 7 November 1642 at St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster, London, England^G.⁴ He died on 28 May 1672 at age 46, killed in action when he drowned while jumping from his flagship H.M.S. Royal James after it had been set alight by Dutch fireships.¹

     Jemima Crew was born on 17 July 1625.¹ She was the daughter of John Crew, 1st Baron Crew of Stene and Jemima Waldegrave.¹ She married Edward Montagu, 1st Earl of Sandwich, son of Sir Sydney Montagu and Paulina Pepys, on 7 November 1642 at St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster, London, England^G.¹ She died in 1674 at Cotehele, Cornwall, England^G.¹
     From 7 November 1642, her married name became Montagu.¹ After her marriage, Jemima Crew was styled as Countess of Sandwich on 12 June 1660.

     John Crew, 1st Baron Crew of Stene was born in 1598.² He was the son of Sir Thomas Crewe and Temperance Bray.² He married Jemima Waldegrave, daughter of Edward Waldegrave and Sarah Higham, circa 1623.³ He died on 12 December 1679.³
     He was created 1st Baron Crew of Stene on 20 April 1661.¹

     Jemima Waldegrave was born circa 1602.³ She was the daughter of Edward Waldegrave and Sarah Higham.^1,3 She married John Crew, 1st Baron Crew of Stene, son of Sir Thomas Crewe and Temperance Bray, circa 1623.³ She died on 14 October 1675.³
     From circa 1623, her married name became Crew.³

     Edward Waldegrave was born circa 1553.² He married, secondly, Sarah Higham, daughter of John Higham and Martha Yelverton.³ He died on 25 January 1598/99.²
     He lived at Lawford Hall, Essex, England^G.¹

     Sir Sydney Montagu was the son of Sir Edward Montagu and Elizabeth Harington.² He married, firstly, Paulina Pepys, daughter of John Pepys and Elizabeth Bendish.¹ He died on 25 September 1644.¹
     He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1616.³ He held the office of Groom of the Bedchamber to King James I.³ He held the office of Master of Court Bequests to King Charles I.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Huntingdonshire in 1640.³ In 1642 he was expelled and imprisoned in the Tower of London for opposing a pro-Parliamentary army resolution.³ He lived at Hinchingbrooke House, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, England.³
