     He was given the name of Henry Nicholas Monck at birth.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Rifle Brigade.¹ On 12 February 1876 his name was legally changed to Henry Nicholas Middleton.¹ He held the office of Vice-Chairman of the Northumberland County Council.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Roxburghshire.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Northumberland.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Northumberland.¹

     Sir William Colles Meredith was born on 23 May 1812 at 1 Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.² He was the son of Reverend Thomas Meredith and Elizabeth Graves.² He married Sophia Maiters Holmes, daughter of William Edward Holmes and Anne Johnston, on 20 May 1847 at Christ Church Cathedral, Montreal, Quebec, Canada^G.²
     He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.)² He was appointed Queen’s Cousnel (Q.C.)² He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)¹ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) on 21 June 1886.² He was Chief Justice.¹ He lived at Quebec, Canada^G.¹

     Sophia Elizabeth Meredith was born in 1848.² She was the daughter of Sir William Colles Meredith and Sophia Maiters Holmes.^3,2 She married Henry Nicholas Middleton, son of Charles Atticus Monck and Laura Ridley, on 7 March 1872.¹ She died on 28 January 1927.¹
     From 7 March 1872, her married name became Monck.

     Lambert William Middleton was born on 29 April 1877.¹ He was the son of Henry Nicholas Middleton and Sophia Elizabeth Meredith.² He married Lady Sybil Grey, daughter of Albert Henry George Grey, 4th Earl Grey and Alice Holford, on 21 September 1922.¹ He died on 10 December 1941 at age 64.¹

     Lucia Hall is the daughter of George Hall.¹ She married Hugh McCorquodale, son of Archibald McCorquodale and Anne MacCallum, on 19 September 1803.¹
     From 19 September 1803, her married name became McCorquodale.¹

     Lady Sybil Grey was born on 15 July 1882.² She was the daughter of Albert Henry George Grey, 4th Earl Grey and Alice Holford.^3,4 She married Lambert William Middleton, son of Henry Nicholas Middleton and Sophia Elizabeth Meredith, on 21 September 1922.¹ She died on 4 June 1966 at age 83.¹
     She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1918.¹ From 21 September 1922, her married name became Middleton.

     George Hall lived at Dundee, Angus, Scotland^G.¹

     Louisa Kate Honan was the daughter of Frederick Honan.¹ She married George McCorquodale, son of Hugh McCorquodale and Lucia Hall, on 24 December 1844.¹ She died in 1870.¹
     From 24 December 1844, her married name became McCorquodale.¹

     Frederick Honan lived at County Limerick, Ireland^G.¹
