     Albert Pillans married Maria Elphinstone, daughter of Alexander Elphinstone of Glack and Charlotte Hunter.¹

     Thomas Poynton Ives was born in 1834.¹ He married Elizabeth Cabot Motley, daughter of Hon. John Lothrop Motley, before 1865.¹ He died in 1865.¹
     He lived at Rhode Island, U.S.A.² He fought in the American Civil War, as a naval officer.¹

     Matehera Te Rangihiroa married Haukino Granville Duff, son of Granville John Berney Duff and Rangiamohia Te Herekiekie.¹ She died on 7 January 1971.¹ She was buried at Pukawa Po Waru urupa, Waihi, New Zealand^G.¹
     Her married name became Duff.¹

     Robert Threshie Reid, 1st and last Baron Loreburn was born on 3 April 1846.¹ He was the son of Sir James John Reid and Mary Threshie.¹ He married, firstly, Emily Douglas Fleming, daughter of Captain A. C. Fleming, on 26 January 1871.¹ He married, secondly, Violet Elizabeth Hicks-Beach, daughter of William Frederick Hicks-Beach and Elizabeth Caroline Tyrwhitt-Drake, on 3 December 1907.¹ He died on 30 November 1923 at age 77, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1871 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hereford between 1880 and 1885.¹ He was appointed Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) in 1882.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dumfries Burghs between 1886 and 1905.¹ He partipicated in an ordinance in 1890; Bencher of the Inner Temple.¹ He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1894.¹ He held the office of Solicitor-General in 1894.¹ He held the office of Attorney-General between 1894 and 1895.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.) in 1899.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1905.¹ He held the office of Lord High Chancellor between 1905 and 1912.¹ He was created 1st Baron Loreburn, of Dumfries, co. Dumfries [U.K.] on 8 January 1906.¹ He was created 1st Earl Loreburn, of Dumfries, co. Dumfries [U.K.] on 4 July 1911.¹

     Sir James John Reid was born circa 1806 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.² He was the son of John Reid and Helen Cunningham.¹ He married Mary Threshie, daughter of Robert Threshie, on 14 June 1843 at Barnbarroch, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.^1,2 He died on 10 April 1876 at Mouswald Place, Dumfries, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.²
     He lived at Mouswald Place, Dumfries, Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.¹ He held the office of Chief Justice of the Ionian Islands in 1837.¹ He was appointed Knight on 7 August 1840.²

     James Reid was a merchant at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹

     Helen Cunningham is the daughter of George Cunningham.¹ She married John Reid, son of James Reid, on 20 October 1804 at St. Cuthbert, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.^1,2
     From 20 October 1804, her married name became Reid.¹

     George Cunningham was Inspector General of Customs.¹
