     Sybil Mary Gilpin is the daughter of Captain Norcliffe Gilpin.² She married Paget John Merriman Bowman, son of George Cyril Bowman and Margaret Percival Clark, on 3 May 1905.¹
     From 3 May 1905, her married name became Bowman.

     Ethel Mary Bowman was the daughter of George Cyril Bowman and Margaret Percival Clark.² She married Guy Eddowes Paget Paget-Bowman, son of Sir William Paget-Bowman, 2nd Bt. and Emily Frances Swabey, on 10 April 1907.¹ She died on 11 February 1943.¹
     From 10 April 1907, her married name became Paget-Bowman.¹

     Guy Eddowes Paget Paget-Bowman was born in 1878.¹ He was the son of Sir William Paget-Bowman, 2nd Bt. and Emily Frances Swabey.² He married Ethel Mary Bowman, daughter of George Cyril Bowman and Margaret Percival Clark, on 10 April 1907.¹ He died on 17 March 1933.¹
     He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn entitled to practise as a barrister.¹ He was Actuary of the Lower House Convocation (Canterbury Province.)¹

     William Allen Jowitt, 1st and last Earl Jowitt was born on 15 April 1885.¹ He was the son of Reverend William Jowitt and Louisa Margaret Allen.¹ He married Lesley McIntyre, daughter of James Patrick McIntyre, on 19 December 1913.² He died on 16 August 1957 at age 72.¹
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1906 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1909 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.¹ He was appointed King’s Counsel (K.C.) in 1922.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hartlepools between 1922 and 1924.¹ He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1929.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Preston between 1929 and 1931.¹ He held the office of Attorney-General between June 1929 and January 1932.² He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1931.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ashton-under-Lyne between 1931 and 1945.¹ He held the office of Solicitor-General between May 1940 and March 1942.² He held the office of Lord High Chancellor between 1945 and 1951.² He was created 1st Baron Jowitt [U.K.] on 2 August 1945.² He was created 1st Viscount Jowitt, of Stevenage, co. Hertford [U.K.] on 20 January 1947.² He was created 1st Viscount Stevenage of Stevenage, co. Hereford [U.K.] on 24 December 1951.¹ He was created 1st Earl Jowitt [U.K.] on 24 December 1951.²

     Alexander Charles Rodney Smith-Ryland was born on 13 April 1977 at Hobart, Tasmania, Australia^G.¹ He is the son of Robin Charles Smith-Ryland and Denita Jayne Henry.¹ He married Leeana Almon Piscopo.¹
     He was educated at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., U.S.A.^G.¹

     Harriet Paget was the daughter of Thomas Paget.² She married Sir William Bowman, 1st Bt., son of John Eddowes Bowman and Elizabeth Eddowes, on 28 December 1842.¹ She died on 25 October 1900.¹
     From 28 December 1842, her married name became Bowman.

     John Jowitt was born on 3 May 1790.¹ He was the son of Joseph Jowitt and Grace Firth.¹ He married Mary Ann Norton, daughter of Thomas Norton, on 29 January 1829.¹ He died on 24 December 1860 at age 70.¹
     He lived at Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding, England^G.¹

     Joseph Jowitt was born on 1 October 1757 at Pudsey, Calverley, Yorkshire, England.^1,2 He was the son of John Jowitt and Ann Benson.¹ He married Grace Firth, daughter of Thomas Firth, on 30 May 1787 at Paddock, Yorkshire, England.^1,2 He died on 7 March 1803 at age 45 at Leeds, Yorkshire, England.^1,2
     He lived at Churwell, Yorkshire, England^G.¹

     Edward Charrington lived at Bury’s Court, Reigate, Surrey, England^G.¹

     Cecilia Charrington was the daughter of Edward Charrington.² She married John Frederick Bowman, son of Sir William Bowman, 1st Bt. and Harriet Paget, on 8 July 1875.¹ She died on 14 October 1926.¹
     From 8 July 1875, her married name became Bowman.
