     Major Simon Whitbread was born on 12 October 1904.² He was the son of Samuel Howard Whitbread and Madeline Emmie Louisa Bourke.³ He married Helen Beatrice Margaret Hepburn-Stuart-Forbes-Trefusis, daughter of Hon. Robert Henry Hepburn-Stuart-Forbes-Trefusis and Lady Dorothy Marguerite Elizabeth Herbert, on 26 May 1936.¹ He died in 1985.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps (60th Rifles.)¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹
