     Rt. Hon. Sir Ronald Charles Lindsay was born on 3 May 1877.¹ He was the son of James Ludovic Lindsay, 26th Earl of Crawford and Emily Florence Bootle-Wilbraham.¹ He married, firstly, Martha Cameron, daughter of Hon. James Donald Cameron, on 18 March 1909.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Sherman Hoyt, daughter of Colgate Hoyt, on 14 July 1924.¹ He died on 21 August 1945 at age 68, without issue.¹
     He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.)¹ He held the office of Under-Secretary of Finance, Egypt between 1913 and 1919.¹ He was awarded the Grand Officer, Order of the Nile.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)¹ He held the office of Minister Plenipotentiary to France in 1920.¹ He held the office of Assistant Under-Secretary of State for the Foreign Office between 1921 and 1924.¹ He held the office of Ambassador to Turkey between 1925 and 1926.¹ He held the office of Ambassador to Germany between 1926 and 1928.¹ He held the office of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Foreign Office between 1928 and 1930.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.)¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.)¹ He held the office of Ambassador to the U.S.A. between 1930 and 1939.¹ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws (LL.D.) by Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G, in 1933.¹

     Martha Cameron was the daughter of Hon. James Donald Cameron.¹ She married Rt. Hon. Sir Ronald Charles Lindsay, son of James Ludovic Lindsay, 26th Earl of Crawford and Emily Florence Bootle-Wilbraham, on 18 March 1909.¹ She died on 28 April 1918.¹
     Her married name became Lindsay.

     Hon. James Donald Cameron held the office of Senator [U.S.], for Pennsylvania.¹

     Elizabeth Sherman Hoyt was the daughter of Colgate Hoyt.¹ She married Rt. Hon. Sir Ronald Charles Lindsay, son of James Ludovic Lindsay, 26th Earl of Crawford and Emily Florence Bootle-Wilbraham, on 14 July 1924.¹ She died on 3 September 1945.¹
     Her married name became Lindsay.

     Colgate Hoyt lived at New York, U.S.A.^G.¹

     Hon. Lionel Lindsay was born on 20 July 1879.² He was the son of James Ludovic Lindsay, 26th Earl of Crawford and Emily Florence Bootle-Wilbraham.^1,2 He married Kathleen Yone Kennedy, daughter of Sir John Gordon Kennedy and Evelyn Adela Bootle-Wilbraham, on 25 October 1921.¹ He died on 18 August 1965 at age 86.¹
     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England^G.² He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.² He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.² He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the 16th Service Battalion, King’s Royal Rifle Corps.² He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur.²

     Kathleen Yone Kennedy was born on 14 August 1880.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Gordon Kennedy and Evelyn Adela Bootle-Wilbraham.¹ She married Hon. Lionel Lindsay, son of James Ludovic Lindsay, 26th Earl of Crawford and Emily Florence Bootle-Wilbraham, on 25 October 1921.¹ She died on 16 May 1970 at age 89.¹
     Her married name became Lindsay.

     Sir John Gordon Kennedy was born on 18 July 1836.¹ He was the son of John Kennedy and Amelia Maria Briggs.¹ He married Evelyn Adela Bootle-Wilbraham, daughter of Colonel Hon. Edward Bootle-Wilbraham and Emily Ramsbottom, on 30 October 1877.¹ He died on 2 December 1912 at age 76.¹
     He was in the Diplomatic Service between 1857 and 1905.¹ He held the office of Secretary of Legation to Yedo in 1878.¹ He held the office of Secretary of the Embassy in St. Petersburg in 1881.¹ He held the office of Secretary of the Embassy in Rome in 1885.¹ He held the office of Minister and Consul-General to Santiago in 1888.¹ He held the office of Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Romania between 1897 and 1905.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)¹ He was appointed Grand Cross, Order of the Star of Romania.¹

     Lady Evelyn Margaret Lindsay was born on 8 May 1870.¹ She was the daughter of James Ludovic Lindsay, 26th Earl of Crawford and Emily Florence Bootle-Wilbraham.¹ She married James Francis Mason, son of James Mason, on 9 February 1895.¹ She died on 3 April 1944 at age 73.¹
     Her married name became Mason. She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1920.¹ She was appointed Lady of Grace, Order of St. John of Jerusalem (L.G.St.J.)¹ She was awarded the Silver Jubilee Medal in 1935.¹ She was awarded the Coronation Medal in 1937.¹
