He gained the rank of Captain in the 10th Hussars.1 He fought in the Peninsular War.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Stuart, of Hartley Mauduit, co. Southampton [E., 1660] on 14 January 1816.1 He held the office of Comptroller to King George IV.2
