Sir William Carew, 5th Bt. was born circa 1689.1 He was the son of Sir John Carew, 3rd Bt. and Mary Morice.1 He married Lady Anne Coventry, daughter of Gilbert Coventry, 4th Earl of Coventry and Dorothy Keyt, circa 31 December 1713.1 He died on 8 March 1743/44.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered on 27 April 1744.1
He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Carew, of Antony, co. Cornwall [E., 1641] from 1703 to 1704.1 He matriculated at Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 4 September 1707.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Saltash between 1711 and 1713.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cornwall between 1713 and 1744.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 22 May 1736.1

Lady Anne Coventry was born circa 1695.1 She was the daughter of Gilbert Coventry, 4th Earl of Coventry and Dorothy Keyt.1 She married Sir William Carew, 5th Bt., son of Sir John Carew, 3rd Bt. and Mary Morice, circa 31 December 1713.1 She died before March 1743/44.1
From circa 31 December 1713, her married name became Carew.1

Dorothy Keyt was born circa 1670.3 She was the daughter of Sir William Keyt, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Coventry.1,3 She married Gilbert Coventry, 4th Earl of Coventry, son of Thomas Coventry, 1st Earl of Coventry and Winifred Edgcumbe, circa 30 November 1694.3 She died in 1705.3
From circa 30 November 1694, her married name became Coventry.1

On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.1
