     Sir Alexander Carew, 2nd Bt. was born on 30 August 1609.¹ He was the son of Sir Richard Carew, 1st Bt. and Bridget Chudleigh.¹ He was baptised on 1 September 1609 at Antony, Cornwall, England^G.¹ He married Jane Rolle, daughter of Robert Rolle and Joane Hele, on 17 December 1631 at Petrockstowe, England^G.¹ He died on 23 December 1644 at age 35 at Tower Hill, The City, London, England^G, executed.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 28 December 1644.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cornwall between 1640 and 4 September 1643.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Carew, of Antony, co. Cornwall [E., 1641] in March 1642/43.¹ On 5 December 1643 he committed to the Tower for agreeing to surrender the isle of St. Nicholas (near Plymouth) to the Royalist forces. He was condemned “for adhering to the King and betraying his trust.”¹ His last will was dated from 20 December 1644 to 22 December 1644. On 27 November 1645 his estate was freed from sequestration.¹

     Jane Rolle was baptised on 25 January 1605/6 at Petrockstowe, England^G.² She was the daughter of Robert Rolle and Joane Hele.¹ She married Sir Alexander Carew, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Richard Carew, 1st Bt. and Bridget Chudleigh, on 17 December 1631 at Petrockstowe, England^G.¹ She died circa April 1679.² She was buried on 28 April 1679 at Antony, Cornwall, England^G.² Her will (dated 18 November 1678) was proven (by probate) on 3 November 1679.²
     From 17 December 1631, her married name became Carew.¹

     Hon. Edward Romilly was born in 1838 at Bloomsbury, London, England.^1,2 He was the son of John Romilly, 1st Baron Romilly and Caroline Charlotte Otter.¹ He married Edith Mary Cowie, daughter of Very Rev. Benjamin Morgan Cowie and Gertrude Mary Carnsew, on 3 August 1871 at St. Marylebone, London, England.^1,2 He died on 12 July 1886 at 1 Wellington Road, Eltham, Kent, England.^1,2
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)³ He was a practising barrister-at-law.³

     Edith Mary Cowie was born in 1847 at Putney, Surrey, England.^2,3 She was the daughter of Very Rev. Benjamin Morgan Cowie and Gertrude Mary Carnsew.² She married Hon. Edward Romilly, son of John Romilly, 1st Baron Romilly and Caroline Charlotte Otter, on 3 August 1871 at St. Marylebone, London, England.^1,3 She died on 19 October 1880 at Kensington, London, England.^1,3
     From 3 August 1871, her married name became Romilly.¹

     Sybil Edith Mary Romilly was born on 8 October 1880 at Kensington, London, England.^1,2 She was the daughter of Hon. Edward Romilly and Edith Mary Cowie.¹ She married Admiral Sir Douglas Romilly Lothian Nicholson, son of General Sir Lothian Nicholson and Hon. Mary Romilly, on 10 August 1907.¹ She died on 14 July 1965 at age 84.³
     From 10 August 1907, her married name became Nicholson.¹
