Sir Alexander Carew, 2nd Bt.1 
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cornwall between 1640 and 4 September 1643.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Carew, of Antony, co. Cornwall [E., 1641] in March 1642/43.1 On 5 December 1643 he committed to the Tower for agreeing to surrender the isle of St. Nicholas (near Plymouth) to the Royalist forces. He was condemned “for adhering to the King and betraying his trust.”1 His last will was dated from 20 December 1644 to 22 December 1644. On 27 November 1645 his estate was freed from sequestration.1
