Roderick Chisholm of Chisholm was born on 30 January 1864.1 He was the son of James Chisholm Gooden-Chisholm and Anne Elizabeth Lambert.2 He married Margaret Chisholm Fraser, daughter of Colonel William Fraser, 13th of Cubokie and Guisachan, on 12 July 1893.1 He died on 14 June 1943 at age 79.1
He was given the name of Roderick Gooden-Chisholm at birth.1 He was educated at Brighton College, Brighton, Sussex, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Seaforth Highlanders.1 On 29 March 1938 his name was legally changed to Roderick Chisholm of Chisholm.1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 29 March 1938.1
