     From 1744, her married name became Thomson.¹ She succeeded as the 15th Lady Sinclair [S., 1449] on 14 May 1789, but for the attainder.¹

     Joyce Gwendolen Quin, Baroness Quin was born on 26 November 1944.¹ She is the daughter of Basil Godfrey Quin and Ida Ritson.¹
     She graduated from University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ She held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Washington West.¹ She held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Gateshead East.¹ She held the office of Member of the European Parliament (M.E.P.), for Tyne and Wear.¹ She held the office of Minister of State, Home Office between 1997 and 1998.¹ She was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1998.¹ She held the office of Minister of State for Europe between 1998 and 1999.¹ She held the office of Minister of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food between 1999 and 2001.¹ She was created Baroness Quin, of Gateshead in the County of Tyne and Wear [U.K. Life Peer] in May 2006.¹

     John Anstruther-Thomson was born on 15 April 1776.¹ He was the son of Colonel John Anstruther and Grizel Maria Thomson of Charleton.² He married Clementina Blair, daughter of Rt. Hon. William Adam of Blair and Hon. Eleanor Elphinstone, on 27 April 1807.¹ He died on 10 April 1833 at age 56.¹
     He was given the name of John Anstruther at birth.¹ He succeeded as the 17th Lord Sinclair [S., 1449] on 5 July 1795, but for the attainder.¹ Circa 1815 his name was legally changed to John Anstruther-Thomson on inheriting the Charleton estate.¹

     Rt. Hon. William Adam of Blair was born on 2 August 1751.² He was the son of John Adam and Jean Ramsay.² He married Hon. Eleanor Elphinstone, daughter of Charles Elphinstone, 10th Lord Elphinstone and Lady Clementina Fleming, on 4 May 1777.³ He died on 17 February 1839 at age 87.²
     He held the office of Lord Chief Commissioner of the Jury Court [Scotland].⁴ He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Kinross-shire.⁴ He held the office of Baron of the Exchequer [Scotland].⁴ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)⁴ He lived at Woodston, Kincardineshire, Scotland^G.¹ He lived at Blair Adam, Kinross-shire, Scotland^G.¹

     Clementina Blair was born circa 1789.² She was the daughter of Rt. Hon. William Adam of Blair and Hon. Eleanor Elphinstone.^3,1 She married John Anstruther-Thomson, son of Colonel John Anstruther and Grizel Maria Thomson of Charleton, on 27 April 1807.¹ She died on 29 October 1877.¹

     John Anstruther-Thomson of Charleton and Carntyne was born on 8 August 1818.¹ He was the son of John Anstruther-Thomson and Clementina Blair.² He married, firstly, Caroline Maria Agnes Robina Gray, daughter of Reverend John Hamilton Gray of Carntyne and Caroline Elizabeth Johnstone, on 25 July 1852.¹ He married, secondly, Isabel Bruce, daughter of Lt.-Gen. Robert Bruce and Rachel Frances Corbet, on 17 June 1891.² He died on 8 October 1904 at age 86.²
     He succeeded as the 18th Lord Sinclair [S., 1449] on 10 April 1833, but for the attainder.² He gained the rank of Officer in the 9th Lancers and 13th Light Dragoons.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the Fife and Forfar Imperial Yeomanry.¹ He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers’ Decoration (V.D.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Fife.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Fife.¹ He lived at Carntyne, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.¹ He lived at Charleton, Fife, Scotland^G.²

     Caroline Maria Agnes Robina Gray was the daughter of Reverend John Hamilton Gray of Carntyne and Caroline Elizabeth Johnstone.¹ She married John Anstruther-Thomson of Charleton and Carntyne, son of John Anstruther-Thomson and Clementina Blair, on 25 July 1852.¹ She died on 12 February 1882.¹
     From 25 July 1852, her married name became Anstruther-Thomson.¹

     John St. Clair Anstruther-Thomson was born on 4 June 1853.¹ He was the son of John Anstruther-Thomson of Charleton and Carntyne and Caroline Maria Agnes Robina Gray.² He died on 4 July 1873 at age 20, unmarried.¹
