     Sir Francis Montefiore, 1st and last Bt. was born on 10 October 1860.2 He was the son of Joseph Mayer Montefiore and Henrietta Francisca Sichel.1,2 He married Marianne von Gutmann, daughter of Wilhelm Ritter von Gutmann and Ida Wodlaner, on 14 August 1888.2 He died on 1 July 1935 at age 74, without issue.2
     He was created 1st Baronet Montefiore, of Worth Park, Crawley, Sussex [U.K.] on 16 February 1886.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Sussex in 1895.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Sussex.2
