     Colonel Hon. John Scott Napier was born on 13 November 1848.2 He was the son of Francis Napier, 10th Lord Napier of Merchistoun and Anne Jane Charlotte Lockwood.2 He married, firstly, Isabella Shaw, daughter of Thomas Shaw, on 6 April 1876.1 He married, secondly, Eva Ingledew Davidson, daughter of Charles Selby Davidson, in December 1928.2 He died on 9 March 1938 at age 89.1
     He fought in the Afghanistan War between 1878 and 1880, where he was mentioned in despatches three times.2 He fought in the First Boer War in 1881.2 He was Inspector of Army Gymnasia between 1897 and 1905.2 He fought in the Boer War in 1900, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Gordon Highlanders.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.)1

     James Forbes, 15th Lord Forbes was born in 1689.1 He was the son of William Forbes, 12th Lord Forbes and Anne Brodie.1 He married, firstly, Mary Forbes, daughter of Alexander Forbes, 3rd Lord Forbes of Pitsligo and Lady Sophia Erskine, in 1715.2 He married, secondly, Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of Sir James Gordon of Park, 2nd Bt. and Hon. Margaret Elphinstone, in 1741.1 He died on 20 February 1761.1
     He succeeded as the 15th Lord Forbes [S., 1445] on 8 August 1734.1

     Alexander Forbes, 3rd Lord Forbes of Pitsligo was born circa 1655.1 He was the son of Alexander Forbes, 2nd Lord Forbes of Pitsligo and Lady Mary Erskine.1,2 He married Lady Sophia Erskine, daughter of John Erskine, 21st/4th Earl of Mar and Jean Mackenzie, in 1676.3 He died in December 1690.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Forbes of Pitsligo [S., 1633] circa 1690.3
